COVID-19 Protocol (Updated Regularly)

We Are Currently Accepting Curbside, Drop-Off and In-Hospital Appointments (Starting June 1st)

Goal: Continue To Serve. Make It As Easy As Possible. Be Smart & Keep Everyone Safe.

Hours of Operation:

M: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
T: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
W: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Th: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
F: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
S: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Closed Daily 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. 

Our Mobile App:

Download the PetPro Connect app to request appointments, medications, message us, receive surgery updates, and view your pet’s medical records.

Appointment Types:

  • Curbside
  • Drop-Off 
  • In-Hospital Appointments – limited to 1 person per room (STARTING JUNE 1st)

When You Arrive:

Step 1: When you call to book your appointment, please make sure we have your most up-to-date information (address, phone numbers, email, etc.) and let us know if you would like an in-hospital appointment or curbside appointment.

  • If you are a NEW CLIENT to MAH, we ask you to fill out the new client information sheet online to save time during the check-in process.

Step 2: When you pull into the parking lot, you will stop at the GREETER HOUSE and CHECK-IN.

Step 3: Clients will be asked to wait in their cars until directed to come into the building. Our lobby will remain closed. 

Step 4: Depending on what type of appointment you requested, our technician will either:

      • CURBSIDE: Our technician will meet you in the parking lot to bring your pet(s) inside. The technician will first ask you the history of your pet(s), and will gather all your questions for the doctor, and will have you sign any releases needed. 
      • IN-HOSPITAL  APPOINTMENT: Our technician will call you when your exam room is ready and will meet you at the front door.
    • It is MANDATORY that you wear a mask, have your temperature checked, and answer covid questions. Once complete, the technician will escort you into an exam room.  

Step 5:  After the appointment is complete:

      • CURBSIDE: The doctor’s team will call you to discuss the appointment, then check out details and payment will be completed over the phone.
      • IN-HOSPITAL APPOINTMENT: When the doctor’s team has completed the appointment, please wait in the exam room. Our team will bring all meds/food into the exam room and will complete the check-out process there. Please exit out the side door only.

Prescription Food & Medications:

Call the hospital and let us know what you need. When you arrive to pick up your pet(s) food and/or medication, check-in at the Greeter House and we will meet you outside with your order. 

We now are offering direct food delivery services from Purina and Hills. The food comes directly from the manufacture. Please find the links below.

Cancellation Policy:

If you need to cancel your appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance. A non-waivable, missed appointment fee of $55 will be charged to your account for a missed appointment.

Euthanasia Protocol:

With a heavy heart, Meriden Animal Hospital has decided to no longer do In-Room Euthanasias. We are doing this due to COVID-19 and trying our best to keep clients and staff as safe as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience during these exceptionally difficult times and appreciate your understanding. 

  • Step 1: Give us a call to inform us of your decision and wishes so we may help you during this difficult time. 
  • Step 2: When you get into the parking lot, give us a call letting us know you are here.
  • Step 3: A technician will meet you and your family at your car to escort your pet inside.
  • Step 4: We will do the euthanasia procedure as we always do normally with care and compassion.
